Portfolio shootout

body painting photoshoot

Want to do body painting images but don’t know how to start?

Many photographers contacted us wanting to shoot our work. Most of them want to experiment shooting body painting images, but they don’t know where to start and some of them don’t have the resources to do the production (hiring the model, studio, painter, etc.)

We constantly create new images to expand our portfolio. This involve a lot of work, particularly in the painting process and we’d like to let more people benefit from this.

Here’s what this is:

  • We book the model
  • We do the body painting
  • We provide studio space
  • We provide backdrop and strobist kit that we use for our photo shoot (light stand, umbrella, reflector, pocket wizards, Orbiz ringflash)
  • You come with your camera to shoot for the time slot that you book.
  • Cost: $90. You get a 45 minute time slot to work with the painted model at our studio (not shared with other photographers).

About the painting

The Return of the Prodigal Son is an oil painting by Rembrandt. It is among the Dutch master’s final works, likely completed within two years of his death in 1669. Depicting the moment of the prodigal son’s return to his father in the Biblical parable, it is a renowned work described by art historian Kenneth Clark as “a picture which those who have seen the original in Leningrad may be forgiven for claiming as the greatest picture ever painted”.
