Nobody tells you about this part
Everyone prepares you for the grief. The anger. The practical chaos of a life coming apart.
Nobody mentions the identity crisis. The way you reach for habits that belong to someone youâre no longer sure you are. The way familiar things feel like theyâre happening to a stranger. The way your own body starts to feel like a place youâve been subtly evicted from â a space that still carries the old story in its posture, its tension, its reflexes.
Talk therapy helps. For a while. But thereâs a point where the words run out. Where youâve processed the story so many times you can recite it fluently â and still feel stuck in it somewhere below the neck.
Thatâs the place this work is for.
Most healing asks you to talk about the transformation
Redrawn asks your body to be it.
Through a combination of guided visualization, somatic practice, and body painting, youâll access the part of you that knows who youâre becoming â not intellectually, but as a felt, physical reality.
Youâll leave with something no coaching session or therapy hour can give you: a tangible image of the new self, written on your own skin, witnessed by people who understand exactly where youâve been.
This isnât art class. It isnât therapy. It isnât a support group.
Itâs a ritual.
For people who are done processing and ready to step forward.
What Actually Happens (3 phases)
1. First: You go inward
Guided hypnotic visualization, your place, safe/entirely yours. Something emerges: an image, a color, a feeling that belongs to the version of you thatâs coming. That becomes what we paint.
2. Then: You release what isnât yours anymore
Using body-safe paint, youâll write directly on your skin the words living there without permission. The things that were said. The story youâve been carrying. You sit with it. Then wipe it away. Then write something new. What youâd say to yourself as a child going through this. What the rebuilt version of you says back.
3. Finally: Youâre witnessed
Through simple prompts, you and the others paint each otherâs answers. Your superpower. What youâre finally allowed to be. What this chapter revealed.
By the end, youâve worn who youâre becoming. Youâve been seen in them. Celebrated in them.
Who This Is For
- Youâre somewhere on the other side of something â divorce, major loss, a life that no longer fits.
- Youâre past the acute phase but not yet fully in the next thing.
- You can feel it forming but canât quite inhabit it yet.
- Youâre open to something that doesnât look like anything youâve tried before.
Who This Isnât For
- Not right if youâre in acute crisis â a licensed therapist is the right first step.
- Also not right if partial skin exposure (arms, shoulders, hands) feels like too much right now.
About Danny
Danny Setiawan has built DenArt NYC into one of the cityâs most recognized body painting studios â featured on the Today Show, CBS News, and international media.
After his own divorce, he moved two blocks from his family home so his daughter could walk over anytime. One Saturday, sitting on the floor of an empty apartment assembling a bed frame that should have felt hopeful and didnât, he felt the ground go out from under him.
The thing that brought him back was an afternoon painting a canvas with his daughter â her handprints, her puppyâs paw print, everything theyâd built that year colored in by her small hands. A Fatherâs Day gift. The first time in months he felt like himself.
That afternoon is why Redrawn exists.
Danny is a certified hypnotherapist (Sussex Hypnotherapy Centre) and NLP practitioner.

Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear?
Comfortable, paint-friendly clothing. You'll be writing on your arms, shoulders, and hands. Wear something you don't mind getting a little paint on â it'll wash off, but dark colors show paint less.
Do I need to be comfortable with partial skin exposure?
Yes. This work involves writing on your arms, shoulders, and hands. If that feels like too much right now, this may not be the right fit. We're happy to talk about 1:1 options that might work better.
Is this therapy?
No. Redrawn is a somatic coaching and body painting experience â not therapy. It doesn't replace clinical mental health treatment. If you're in acute crisis, please consult a licensed therapist first.
What if I'm not an artist?
You don't need any artistic experience. This isn't about creating beautiful art â it's about accessing something real through your body. The painting is a tool, not the point.
Will photos be taken?
Yes. We'll have professional photography throughout the session, and you'll receive digital images within 24 hours. Sharing is always optional.
What's the group size?
6â8 people max. Small enough to feel safe, large enough to have a genuine group experience.
